The Catalyst.
“You know, the Bible says…”
A simple phrase triggered a series of chain reactions in my soul. It’s not that I hadn’t heard what proceeded that simple phrase before, but rather how that simple phrase made the difference. Those five simple words took the authority out of the hand of the messenger, and placed all of the weight on a formidable source; the Bible. The Bible is not a book, but a library of books stretching for about a millennia, written by about forty different authors. This library contains thousands of hyperlinks and no contradictions. How can that be so? Simple. It is the active Spirit of the living God. He is the constant who does not change, and neither does his word!
A catalyst is a substance that changes the rate of a chemical reaction but is itself unchanged at the end of the process. See, the Word of God is the catalyst!
Psalm 119 verse 89 says, “Your word, O God, is forever settled in heaven!” This means that, no matter what happens, God’s word is forever established and remains the unchanging agent in this equation. Jesus said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away.” (Matthew 24:35) The word of God is the catalyst to every aspect of Christian living. It is the catalyst to faith: “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17) The word of God is the catalyst to conversion: “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul.” (Psalm 19:7) The word of God is the catalyst for success: “This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.” (Joshua 1:8)
Everything that pertains to life and godliness must be extracted from this library, and history has proven that this catalyst remains unchanged, yet everyone who has a true encounter with the word of God cannot remain the same. It is the ultimate catalyst that will accelerate the rate of change for every believer. It is the transforming agent, according to the apostle Paul, in Romans 12, verse 1 and 2. This is why the Holy Fuel Podcast exists… this podcast exists to provide you with the fuel that radically transforms every one named by the name of Christ. This word of God is to stir and equip every listener to live out this Christian walk.
Psalm 119:9-16
BETH. How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.
With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!
Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.
Blessed [are] You, O LORD! Teach me Your statutes.
With my lips I have declared All the judgments of Your mouth.
I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As [much as] in all riches.
I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways.
I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
